In total we have 5 hectares or 12.5 acres of land at Simply Permaculture. One hectare includes our house and the plot we use for our Glamping business, because we rent out six safari tents, and three cottages between April-October. Here you find also a few of the smaller projects like demonstration m2 gardening, our glass beehive, the kitchen garden and a reed filter bed which filters the water from the bathroom building. Many people like our tents of course and if during your visit not all the tents are full we will even let you peek in one.

We arrived at the property in October 2007 and the first years we spend our time in setting up our small scaled tourist business. During the autumn and winter time we slowly started with developing the vegetable garden which has steadily doubled in size every year since 2008. But our 10 acre field remained barren for a few years. It was difficult to imagine how to design such a large field even after watching lots of documentaries and studying books. In 2013 we decided to go on an intensive two week course where at the end we would be the proud owners of a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC). The two weeks helped us put all the information we had gathered over the years into place and also gave us so much extra knowledge. The PDC also gave us an extensive short term, mid term and long term plan for the coming 10 years for the 10 acre field. And that is what we have been working on. That winter we planted over 600 bushes and trees. We have created an integrated water management system, are improving the soil and biodiversity and are creating edible forest edges. There is so much more we can share, but come and see for yourself or join one of the guided tours which will have different subjects like water management, soil improvement and composting, how to benefit from our animals and more. Keep an eye on the guided tours section or trainings and workshops for more in depth information sharing on what’s happening in our garden.
